August 8th: Save Downstate Hospital!

Rally to save jobs and health care services at SUNY Downstate Medical Center!

Governor Cuomo wants to balance the budget by layoffs, hospital closings, and severe pension reductions. The banks got bailed out. We got sold out. Join us to work for better healthcare and more jobs. Reclaim Healthcare for the 99%!

Join Healthcare for the 99% and the Brooklyn Community to Rally and Speak Out!

Already, dozens of Downstate employees have received layoff notices in the first of several waves of job cuts that could leave thousands of health care professionals without jobs.

The cuts are part of Downstate’s restructuring plan, which will drastically cut vital hospital services—and impact thousands of Brooklyn patients who depend on the hospital for life-saving care. Brooklyn’s economy will be devastated; the borough’s unemployment and foreclosure rates will soar.
